Fotowatio Renewable Venture, a multinational dedicated to the solar business, is the only company to obtain a grant of € 11M from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge in the first call for incentives for pioneering projects in green hydrogen.

The project has a global investment of 44 million euros and plans to install a green hydrogen production plant for its own use (through the electrolysis of water and electricity from renewable sources).  It will be located in the town of Mérida at the node of the "Carmonita" electrical substation where several photovoltaic plants pour electricity.

Remember that green hydrogen can be used as a raw material, for domestic use, fuel or energy carrier and energy storage with application in industrial and transport sectors. The goal is to produce 20% of green hydrogen across Europe by 2030.
