The event, which will take place at Finca el Toril on May 8 and 9, will bring together a dozen Chinese brands linked to connected electric vehicles.

The Ministry of Economy, Employment and Digital Transformation is holding the First International Forum on Electric Mobility on 8 and 9 May, which will bring together top-level executives and managers in Extremadura in charge of developing the expansion strategies of the major brands of the Connected Electric Vehicle, VEC.

The meeting will take place in the format of full-time panels of experts on the 8th and the morning of the 9th, and will bring together relevant international representatives of the sector, including manufacturers and researchers in the field of electrical energy storage.

The presence in this forum of representatives of the Government of Spain, the European Commission, the main Asian manufacturers of electric vehicles and the Chinese embassy in Spain, means that Extremadura is the centre of the debate on the future of the electric vehicle.

Within this framework, the first debate of understanding and reflection on electric mobility in an international context will take place. The commitment to R+D+i is another of the objectives of the meeting, given that it will offer the possibility of interaction of manufacturers, from this VEC chain, with members of the scientific community of Extremadura.

A dozen Chinese brands linked to the VEC have confirmed their attendance, accompanied by important businessmen from both Extremadura and Spain, as well as heads of the national and regional administration related to the factors that attract foreign investment.

The work programme also aims to project and promote Extremadura to foreign investors.

Four panel discussions, conferences, networking, dozens of B2B meetings and matchmaking sessions are planned in the programme, while the suitability of Extremadura for attracting foreign investment related to the VEC will be highlighted.
