This Monday, July 8, "the first stone" of the Chinese battery gigafactory Envision was laid on the land where the project is housed in Expacio Navalmoral, Cáceres.

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the President of the Regional Government of Extremadura, María Guardiola, presided over the event at the Teatro Mercado in Navalmoral, where they discussed "The supply chain of batteries for electric vehicles: impact on the economic development of Extremadura and Spain, training and job opportunities", as well as the signing of memorandums of understanding in the fields of training and the value chain.

With the start of work and the planned work programme, the facility is expected to be ready to start operating in 2027. The works of the first phase will last for two years, and once completed, the provision of equipment and tests of the machinery would have to be carried out.

This is one of the most important industrial projects in Europe and decisive for the development of Extremadura, which allows it to be placed on the world map of the development of the electric car.
