The Secretary of Economy, Business, and Commerce, Víctor Píriz, visits ProWein, the leading international wine and spirits fair taking place in Düsseldorf this week. Twelve Extremadura companies are participating in the event, seeking to promote and sell their products abroad.

ProWein is one of the most important and internationally recognized trade fairs for wine and spirits, establishing itself as an essential trade event for international buyers in the food retail, specialty trade, and hotel, restaurant, and catering sectors.

This fair, which last year brought together more than 50,000 participants from over 160 countries, is an opportunity for Extremadura companies to exhibit and sell their products. Their presence at ProWein has a direct impact on exports to Europe, which, according to the Secretary of Economy, Business, and Trade, Víctor Píriz, "reached €56 million last year."

Ten Extremadura companies are participating at the Regional Government of Extremadura's stand, three of them for the first time at this space. This dynamic stand aims to attract trade visitors, attract clients, and consolidate those currently working with Extremadura wineries, as well as attract importers for future initiatives and promote Extremadura wines and the region.

As a new feature, there is an exclusive space for technical wine promotion activities, supported by tastings and samplings of the region. In addition, various activities will be held in which expert professionals, through wine tastings and pairings, will provide additional promotional value to the Extremadura exhibitors at this fair.

Spain is the world's third-largest wine exporter, and in Extremadura, we have the Ribera del Guadiana DO, the Cava DO, and the Vinos de la Tierra de Extremadura PGI. This is a sector in which our region excels and boasts great potential.
