The Extremadura-based company Bolschare takes over the entire agricultural division of Borges
26 Apr 2024
It partners with a sustainable fund for the acquisition of 1,900 hectares of crops
The Extremadura-based group Bolschare Agriculture takes over the entire agricultural division of Borges Agricultural & Industrial Nuts (BAIN) and will integrate its entire workforce into its structure. With an investment of between €70 million and €80 million, Bolschare continues to expand the business, adding to its portfolio of operations the management of up to 1,900 hectares of crops in Iberia and 14 properties that produce almonds, walnuts and pistachios in the regions of Badajoz, Granada and Alentejo (Portugal).
Natural Capital Fund (the Spanish agricultural asset management company belonging to the Bolschare Group), has partnered with the sustainable fund Climate Asset Management that will finance the acquisition of 100% of BAIN's agricultural arm.
The objective is based on turning key sectors such as agriculture into engines of change, increasing the diversification of crops within the portfolio with the introduction of pistachios and walnuts, ensuring that profitability and responsibility go hand in hand to generate a positive impact on society.
With the signing of this agreement, Borges' B2B (Business to Business) nut division will focus on the innovation and commercialization of new products and the integration of projects aimed at environmental sustainability, establishing these elements as fundamental pillars of its strategy.
