31 May 2023

Vestige Collection, owned by the Asturian doctor and businessman Víctor Madera, founder and first executive of Quirón Salud, aims to rehabilitate properties in different parts of Spain, including Extremadura, where it will rehabilitate a castle in Alburquerque and a farm with housing in the Monfragüe National Park.

This company rescues architectural jewels by restoring splendor, rehabilitating them, making them available to travelers and guarding them to leave them as a legacy of cultural and environmental wealth for the future. They are looking for exceptional properties, located in unusual natural environments and framed in extraordinary historical, cultural and landscape scenarios, which is why they have focused on Extremadura.

The castle of Azagala, is a fortress of the thirteenth century located in Alburquerque (Badajoz), is in the rehabilitation phase to become a hotel. In Cáceres, it is developing to open a hotel on the Valero farm, it is part of the Monfragüe National Park, where four ecosystems converge: the dehesa, the Mediterranean forest, the rocks and the Tagus basin.

With this type of sustainable projects, Extremadura will benefit from the recovery of heritage, increase international tourism and generate direct and indirect employment in the region.
