Extremadura's economy is off to a strong start in the new year 2024

After the first data published by the INE (National Institute of Statistics) in January 2024, the business confidence index has grown in Extremadura three times more than in Spain as a whole (7.6 points). The Business Confidence Index (ECI) is an indicator that measures the perception of the business sector regarding its economic activity in the national and international environment.

In the case of Extremadura, Extremadura businessmen are optimistic about the evolution of the economy at the beginning of this year and the expectations are good for the future. This was stated by Guillermo Santamaría, Minister of Economy of the Regional Government of Extremadura, who once again emphasised the importance of foreign investment as a key strategy for economic development in the region.
