The Productive Industrial Investment Fund (FAIIP), promoted by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism and managed by the public company of business financing Sepides, has approved a financing of 120 million euros in favor of the company Diamond Foundry Europe for the synthetic diamond production plant to be built in Trujillo (Cáceres).

The project, which foresees a total investment for all its phases of more than 700 million euros and the creation of 300 direct jobs, will be located in the Arroyo Caballo Polygon in Trujillo with an area of 84,000 square meters and an initial capacity to produce two million carats. Earthmoving work will begin shortly.

The synthetic diamonds, with applications in the field of semiconductors, will be produced using the energy generated by a 120 MW photovoltaic solar plant, close to industrial facilities. The company's goal is to achieve 100% renewable consumption. With this, Diamond Foundry Europe will position Extremadura and Spain in a highly specialized sector with great innovative potential, making the region a benchmark for sustainable industry.
